Hope all are doing well

Sorry for the long dry spell on posting. Life just gets so hectic.

I have received many responses from folks regarding this blog on how it has helped them with their own dogs. I am so glad that I have been able to help. It is such a scary time and I know when I started on this little odyssey there were only medical sites to go to that weren't all that helpful. Ok, so I know what the surgery is, but what does it all mean as far as recovery, and the future for my dog. So if I have made things easier, I am so happy. And if you are just starting on this adventure, it really does get better and quickly.

Patton has spent the winter tearing around the snow and climbing the snow banks around the house(thanks to the 80+inches of snow this winter). You would honestly never know he had two hip surgeries last winter. (Glad it was last winter and not this. Way too much snow)

Patton and I would like to give a belated Happy Birthday to Dewey! I am so glad to hear you are doing so well. Many more years of chasing bunnies and birds for you!

Happy Spring Patton! Thank you for the birthday wishes for Dewey. He's doing really well and is now a certified therapy dog. We go to the local library and kids read to him. He's truly a beautiful baby. Your post made me tear up...then again that doesn't take much lately because I'm 4 months pregnant with our first child. Dewey goes back for more surgery in May but this time just to get fixed. A few people suggested allowing him a longer period of time with the testoterone may help build more muscle but now it's time to make sure we don't have any accidents! Have a wonderful spring! Dewey was outside talking to the robins the other day...he can't understand why they won't come play with him! I can't believe it has almost been a year, we can't wait to get him to the beach the spring! Take care! Shannon & Dewey

Hi Patton's Mom,

Thank you so much for putting this blog up. Our pupster Learned has just started his own odyssey with his first hip done 2 days ago. I'm glad to have something to gauge his progress on.

He'll be doing his second surgery in 3-4 weeks.

Thanks again!
